This is an early Medieval silver signet ring, dating to the 10th - 12th century AD. Round bezel engraved with a Patriarchal cross. The signet would have been used to seal and authenticate letters and transactions by a merchant or nobleman. It is an excavated ring, and the shank bears fracture marks and so this is not a wearable ring but suited for museum display!
