This is a nice Renaissance silver clothing hook fastener, dating to the 16th century. It is of a small size, originally sewn onto delicate silks or child's clothing. These were used as buttons to hook together or to close up garments. It is decorated with a floral spray, with the loop for receiving a hook on the twin fastener. An interesting piece for a collector.
