Tortoiseshell and Gold Piquework Ring

This is a delightful Georgian gold and tortoiseshell finger ring, dating to the 18th century. The ring is beautifully crafted from a single piece of shell, the band carved and polished. On the bezel is decorated with an eye of twelve gold pliques hammered into the horn.
