An early 20th century wooden breadboard. This board is fairly simple in form. It is carved, in beechwood, with the word ‘Bread’ and a simple, stylised border of barley. It dates from c.1910 and it is in very good condition. It has seen a lot of use and the centre of the board is quite worn, from continuous cutting, but the wood has a good, rich patina.
