Flat Topped Ring Mould
A Victorian copper, fancy border, ring mould dating from c.1870. This mould doesn't have any manufacturers marks but it is marked with the initial 'P.G'. These are actually stamped in four places, twice on the flat top of the mould and twice on the inside of the ring. These would have been the initials of a previous owner. The design is very simple, with fluted sides and a flat top, however, this is quite unusual. The design looks very good when hanging. The mould is made from a heavy gauge of copper and it has a brased seam up the inside. There is very slight pitting on the side of the mould but other than that it is in very good condition. The tinning, to the interior, is quite good and it could possibly still be used.
