A nineteenth century, Sunderland Lustre plaque. This is potted in pearlware and it dates from c.1830. It is transfer printed with a steam ship and titled “RETRIBUTION STEAMER”. This is then coloured in green, red and yellow enamels and the moulded border is washed in a pink lustre glaze. It is in very good condition, with no damage or restoration, but there is slight wear to the lustre on the rim.
