A fantastic collection of 15 French glass storage jars. These were originally made for a shop display and probably date from the 1920's. They are quite difficult to date acurately as we have never come across anything like them before. In effect they are upside down storage jars with corks in the openings in the bases. No two are exactly the same size and they are all hand blown. They range in size from the tallest, which is 33cm. (13in) high by 6.5cm. (2 1/2in) diameter, down to the smallest which is 13cm. (5 1/8in) high by 5cm. (2in) diameter. There is a very small chip on the foot of one of the jars but other than that they are all in excellent condition. Some have old labels, which are now very faded, which include 'Poivre' and 'Cannelle'. These could be original to the jars. The shapes of the jars are very decorative and these would now made a superb feature in a large kitchen.
