An unusual, early 20th century, picture tile by Minton. This is marked, to the reverse, “MINTONS CHINA WORKS STOKE ON TRENT MADE IN ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1920. There is also a circular impressed mark which includes “WALBROOK LONDON”. The tile is from a series depicting the months of the year and has a verse:
“Sweet masking May in white or red
Her snowy cloud of blossom spread.”
This is a charming tile and it is in very good condition.
