A fabulous quality, early nineteenth century, Wedgwood, three colour jasperware vase. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1820. The shape is known as a trumpet shape vase. This example is made from a solid white jasper body which is ornamented in lilac and green. The sides are split into four sections, by long, reeded columns with lion mask handles to the top and claw feet to the base. These are in lilac relief. Between them are garlands of flowers in green and small cartouches in lilac, green and white. Above this is a border of grapes, vines and ribbons and there are further borders of acanthus leaves to the top and base. All of the reliefs are super quality and the vase its in excellent condition.
