A fantastic quality, large, French copper baking dish, ideal for cooking the Christmas goose or turkey. This piece dates from the late 19th century, c.1890, and it is made from an exceptionally heavy gauge of copper. The copper is 3mm thick and the piece weighs over 10 kilos. It has substantial brass handles to either end. There is very slight marking to the copper, from use, but overall, it is in very good condition. We have had the interior re-tinned so that it can be used but you would need a large oven to take this.
