Winfield Rowbotham Bread Knife.

A Victorian steel breadknife with a carved wooden handle. The handle is well carved,  with a stylised wheat design. The carving is deep and well detailed . The steel blade bears a manufacturers mark ‘WINGFIELD ROWBOTHAM  ESTD 1731 SHEFFIELD’ to either side of a crown above a harp.  The  piece dates from c.1880. It is in excellent condition and the blade is still very sharp.
