A Victorian copper, ice cream bombe mould. This piece dates from c.1880. It is simple in form and was used for making an ice cream bombe. It would have been lined with ice cream and the centre filled with a fruit sauce, or chocolate, so when you cut into the ice cream the central filling exploded out. The brass foot, on the base, unscrews and this enables the ice cream dessert to come out of the mould more easily. It is in excellent condition and tinning, to the interior, is still in very good, usable condition.
