'Wingfield' Bread Knife

A Victorian steel breadknife with a carved wooden handle. The handle is very well carved with ears of wheat and a small flower. The carving is deep and fine and shows little wear. The steel blade is marked 'WINGFIELD  ROWBOTHAM & Co. SHEFFIELD' and it is also engraved with a crowned harp, which is the mark of that manufacturer. The piece dates from c.1880. It is in excellent condition and the blade is still very sharp.
