A wooden butter roller carved with pineapples. This would have been used for putting a design around the edge of a block of butter. It is made from beechwood and it is carved with a continuous band of pineapples. The pineapple was the Georgian symbol of welcome. On one side the piece is marked ’S.DEE 1852’. This looks as though it has been applied with stensils and the ink is well faded. This would probably have been the name of the original owner and the year that it was made. It has been very well preserved and it is in excellent condition.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £15. Western Europe add £8.
