6603 A Farrow & Jackson type brass corkscrew

Code: 6603

£125.00

This is a mid-late 19th century mechanical corkscrew of a type known as a "Farrow & Jackson".  The frame and drawing mechanism is all brass, with just the helix (or worm) made of steel.

The corkscrew is in good condition with a full worm and there is very little 'play' in the extraction mechanism.

Like all antique corkscrews, it is in working condition, but the tip of the worm  may be fragile, so should be regarded as a collectable rather than as a corkscrew for daily use.

English, c.1860, 6", 15.3 cms long.
