6598 A fine late 19th century cut decanter
This splendid decanter was made in the closing years of the 19th century. It has an ovoid body decorated with seven vertical panels of hobnail cutting between deep V grooves. The shoulder is panel-cut below diamond facets and an everted rim. The base is supported on a low foot and is star-cut underneath. The hollow spire stoppepr is cut in four sections to match the body.
The decanter is in excellent overall condition - no cracks, no or negligible chips and it is bright and clear. It is very fit for use.
